Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP):

Is an integrated control system of food safety at all stages of its production and distribution. It is aimed at prevention of contamination, instead of end-product evaluation. In place of relying on food inspectors to detect food safety problems, HACCP shifts the responsibility to the food producer to ensure that the product is safely consumable.

The Primus GFS certification comprises an international system of food safety management applicable to the entire food chain of fruit and vegetables. This is based on the principles of safe quality FDA, HACCP, GAP and GMP. Primus GFS establishes certain requirements for handling the production, processing, handling and storage operations. It is the most widely accepted and standardized food safety certification program in the industry.

Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT): is a joint initiative between the American government and the private sector which aims to build cooperative relationships that strengthen the security of the entire supply chain and border security. Through this initiative, Customs is asks importers to strengthen their security practices and communicate their business partners along the supply chain.

Mexico Supreme Quality (MSQ): MSQ provides a framework for certifying good agricultural practices on farms, so that consumers are assured their foods are produced safely and responsibly. MSQ works with independent certification bodies to make certain that producers comply with international and Mexican food safety regulations.

The Mexican National Health Service and Food Safety (SENASICA) is a part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA). The agency performs actions relating to health to protect the agricultural pests and diseases of quarantine and regulates and promotes the implementation and certification of systems to reduce risks of food contamination and food quality to facilitate domestic and international trade of goods of origin plants and animals.
